Feng Shui Interior Design Home Builder Tips
NO (SQUARE) PILLARS BLOCKING DOORS
Square pillars that block doors always mean bad news in feng shui. If you can’t remove the pillar, wrap them with mirrors or use a creeper plant to soften the sharp edges. Rounded pillars aren’t as bad, but place a screen between it and the door if they’re directly across each other.
MAIN DOOR (INSIDE)
The inside of the main door should not face your house staircase, a corner of the house, or a weight-bearing post. Do not have the door face directly a wall either. The main door is the primary entry for good chi into your residence so do not block it. Open spaces (that are clear of clutter) for this are best.
MAIN STAIRCASE AND DOOR POSITION
Do not have your architect, if possible, position your staircase facing the door of a room, as this will be a point of bad luck for your. Also, do not position any door of the house or office facing a long narrow hallway, as this may cause bad chi to generate within that room.
NO SPIRAL STAIRCASE & SPACES BETWEEN STEPS
A spiral staircase is not recommended for your home, most especially if it’s located at the center of your house. The spaces between the steps cause money to drain away, and the circular cork-screw shape symbolizes great damage being done to the home.
MAIN STAIRCASE DESIGN & CEILING MIRROR
The main staircase of the house should not be in a spiral design, as this will constrict the flow of good life energy into the living quarters of the house. Furthermore, mirrors on the ceiling should be avoided in vital places of the house such as the living room and master’s bedroom.
IDEAL CEILING SHAPE-DESIGN
Exposed beams on the ceiling, or having too many rafters, cornices, or corners incorporated into the ceiling design is unfavorable. Best to have a flat, uniform design, as it ensures that fortune flows evenly. This design should be used especially for the living room and master’s bedroom.
CEILING SHAPE-DESIGN HARMONY
Irregular shapes are detrimental to fortune. This holds true with ceiling shape as well. Don’t have too many cornices or beams on your roof. Cover any beams exposed in the living room. Don’t have un-proportional ceiling designs in the master’s bedroom. Feng shui is about Harmony.
